He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Thompson and Patricia Thompson (Mitchell); and his brothers, Phillip, Mark and Danny.
He is survived by: his wife Gwen Thompson; his children, Brad Thompson (Jennifer) of Clinton, Trent Thompson (Tiffany) of Bessie and Michelle Hadley (Kris) of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; and his brother Victor Thompson of El Dorado. He is also survived by grandchildren and one great‑grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Steve's memory to The Gideons or the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) of Grove, Oklahoma, organizations that were especially meaningful to him.
