He was predeceased by: his parents, John Dell Sykes and Ruby Jewel Sykes (Collins) of Guthrie; and his siblings, Bobby Sykes, Flora Ann Boman, Jeweletta "Punkin" Huddleston and Clint Dickson.
He is survived by: his wife Beverly Sykes; his children, Amy Sykes Ingle (Shawn) of Guthrie, Jillian Sykes of Guthrie and Kyle Sykes of Guthrie; and his grandchildren, Brent Ingle, Savannah Ingle, Greyson Sykes, Lorelai Sykes and Anniston Sykes. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Sunday, May 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Guthrie High School (200 N Crooks Dr, Guthrie, OK 73044).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Earl's honor to Guthrie Education Foundation, supporting the educational values he championed throughout his life.
