He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Samuel Goodwin and Dollie Mary Crick Goodwin; his brother Horace McKinley "Jack" Goodwin; his wife Betty Lynn Moad; and his sons, Gary Lynn Goodwin, Sr. and Samuel Ray Goodwin, Sr..
He is survived by: his children, John Thomas Goodwin II (Donna) of Guthrie, Judith Grace Nelson (Clifford) of Guthrie and Barbara Joyce Dew of Guthrie; and his granddaughter Suzzanne Davis (Brian) of Guthrie. He is also survived by nineteen great-grandchildren; and eight great-great- grandchildren.
