The passing of Merl Gene Hicks of Guymon, Oklahoma leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on October 9, 2025 at the age of 97. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Alna Brice and Olive May Hicks (Upshaw); his wife Marie Lollar; his son Mark Alan Hicks; and his siblings, Doris Delano, Wanda Shores, Deloris Fowler, Florence Hicks, Johnnie, Gifford, Kenneth and Calvin Hicks.
He is survived by: his children, R. T. Hicks of Amarillo and Connie Hicks of Guymon; his grandchildren, Brice Hicks of Amarillo, Benton Hicks of Amarillo, Shanna Walle (Karel) and Natasha Fitzgerald of Hooker, Oklahoma.; his great grandchildren, AJ, Kennley, Lennox Walle, Lincoln and Warren Fitzgerald; and his pet Brownie. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Roberts Funeral Home (122 NE 7th St, Guymon, OK 73942). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Morning Star Methodist Church (2512 Hiram Ave, Guymon, OK 73942).
The Hicks family request memorials in lieu of flowers be given to the Morning Star United Methodist Church.
