He was predeceased by: his parents, James W Vaughan and Lucille J Vaughan (Wirtzburger). He is survived by: his children, Katrina Parsley, Michael James Vaughan II and Mikala Jones-Vaughan; and his siblings, James Vaughan III (Anita), Chris Vaughan, Rona Davis (David) and Angela Redensek. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
