She was predeceased by: her parents, Calvin Moore and Ina Moore (Waner); her husbands, Perman Whitaker and Robert Bruce; her daughter-in-law Martha Whitaker; her grandson Mitchell Whitaker; her siblings, Bessie, John, Ray, Mid, Lottie, Calvin, Grace, Clarence and Eva; and her siblings-in-law, Nota McCall, Willie Jean Overland and Darrell Overland.

She is survived by: her children, John Robert, Bobby (Dana) and Dona Whitaker; her grandsons, John David (Tracy) and Robert Michael (Vicky); her great grandchildren, Meredith, Gracy, Davis and Max; and her brothers-in-law, Dr. Charles McCall and James Whitaker.
