He was predeceased by: his parents, Fenicia Ann (Evans) and Robert Doyle Akins Sr.; his sister Dina Thompson; and his brother-in-law Fred Thompson. He is survived by: his sisters, Robbie Blades (James) of Henryetta and Rebecca Akins of Checotah; his uncles, Robert Evans of Henryetta and David Evans (Jimmie Ann) of Henryetta; his nieces and nephews, Amanda Weimer (Whitney) of Checotah, Jennifer Weimer of Henryetta, Trudi Blades of Henryetta, Alysha Spangler of Houston, Cody Blades (Kimberly) of Schulter and Freddie Thompson (Maira) of Florida; his great-nieces, Kenadi Tyrrell of Henryetta and Taylor Hodge of Henryetta; and his great-nephew Crew Blades of Schulter. He is also survived by other relatives and dear friends.
A memorial service was held on Friday, June 13th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Integrity Chapel (410 E Trudgeon St, Henryetta, OK 74437).
