He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Grady Lay and Minnie Adeline McKay (Sorrels); his son Floyd Thomas Lay; and his siblings, Wynona Casey, Grady Lay, Ruth Anderson and Charles Lay.
He is survived by: his wife Regina Inman; his children, Belinda Thompson and Brian Lay; his sister Patricia Lay; and his grandchildren, Disa Harron, Josh Frakes, Callie Neva and Derek Lay. He is also survived by several great grandchildren.
