It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of David Edward Pope of Holdenville, Oklahoma, who passed away on May 31, 2025, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint David Edward leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Julian Pope and Evelyn Pope (Edwards); and his wife Derlyn Fountain Pope. He is survived by: his daughter Davida Pope; his son-in-law Doug Bradley; his siblings, Judy Pope Deeson (Don) and Johnny Pope (Barbara); and his brothers-in-law, Roy Fountain (Darla) and Wayne Fountain (Nancy). He is also survived by four nieces, six nephews, and scores of cousins.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 21st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Holdenville (310 N Broadway St, Holdenville, OK 74848).

“I am so sorry to hear of his passing. I felt so bad that he had to suffer so much of his last few years. We may have tears and sorrow but his have been wiped away. It’s always nice to think about him reuniting with his wife but also my mom will greet him and many more of our family. Sending love up all the family. Sherry Taylor”
