He is survived by: his mother Mona Ruth Russell (Burchett) of Hooker, Oklahoma; his children, James Weston and Erin Roemer (Robert); his grandchildren, Apryl and Robert of Somerset, Texas; his son Weston Russell (Kayleigh); his grandchildren, Carmen and Maylin of Hooker, Oklahoma; his child Leslie Russell (Maggie); his grandchildren, Abigail, Natalie and Frankie of Hooker; his significant other Jo Allen of Amarillo; his brother Travis Russell (Cathleen Sullivan) of Norman, Oklahoma; and his nieces, Isabella Russell (Andrew Cookson) of Hooker and Olivia Russell (Mason Landsaw). He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, bonus children, bonus grandbabies, in-laws.
Among his favorite stories was the time he "accidentally" ran over a referee, along with his claim that his effectiveness as a tackle once resulted in burning through 14 face masks in a single game.
