As Barney DeWayne departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Barney DeWayne may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Barney DeWayne leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Nicholas and Gwen Nicholas (McCurdy); and his brothers, Eldon Nicholas and Wesley Nicholas. He is survived by: his wife Linda Nicholas (Mashburn); his sons, Joseph Nicholas (Anna) of Spencerville, OK and Troy Nicholas (Tammi) of Mustang, OK; and his siblings, Denver Nicholas (Connie) of Ben Wheeler, TX, Evelyn Syposs (Dave) of Tucson, AZ and Carol "Diane" Brown (Larry) of Spencerville, OK. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 20th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Miller and Miller Funeral Home - Hugo (3151 E Jackson St, Hugo, OK 74743). A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 21st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Spencerville Cemetery E 1980 Rd.
