She was predeceased by: her parents, Delter G and Whisenhunt (Bessie Mae Samis Whisenhunt). She is survived by: her husband John Detten; and her children, Jason N. Detten of Washington, DC and Andrea N. Lee of Arthur City, TX. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 1 great grand-child.
She struggled long with Alzheimer's dementia and was called home on Saturday morning with her family at her side.
