He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie Burton Dawson Sr. and Emma Louise Dawson; and his brother Jimmy Dawson. He is survived by: his wife Gerri Dawson of Hugo, Oklahoma.; his son Greg Dawson (Danielle) of Meridian, Idaho; his granddaughter Courtney Dawson; and his siblings, Jerry Dawson of Klamath Falls, Oregon and Peggy Bieler (Leroy) of Klamath Falls.
