With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Vernell Grant of Hugo, Oklahoma, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 5, 2025 at the age of 79. He was predeceased by: his parents, Buster Grant and Ruby Jewel Grant (Whitmore); his wife Billie Jean (McCarty); his grandchildren, Ulysses, Vincent Akins, Bryin Robinson and Jamie Robinson; and his sister Sally Ann Hall.
He is survived by: his children, Denoval Grant, Gregory Grant, Michael Grant, Lamont Pearl, Betestia Shaw and Shekethia Grant. He is also survived by 30 grandchildren and 49 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Hugo Middle School (300 N E St, Hugo, OK 74743).
