He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Bierig and Katherine Haffner Bierig; and his brothers, Raymond Bierig, Harvey Bierig, Samuel and Louis.

He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Lamle; and his children, Jackie Reed of Grapevine, Texas and Dr. Kirt Bierig (Cynthia) of Okeene.

Memorials may be given to Fairview Central Christian Church or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) through the funeral home.
