He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl D. Ward and Betty Lou Ward (Lauber); and his grandson Caiden Barber. He is survived by: his wife Cara Shea Conway; and his children, Adam Ward (Emily) of Greenbrae, California, Kimmy King (Ben) of Garnett, Kansas, Garett Gebhardt of Joplin, Missouri, Bailey Humbard (Brandon) of Olathe, Kansas, Jordan Gebhardt of Kansas City, Missouri, Tarah Cockrell of Pittsburg and Sharon Lynn Hilton (Aaron) of Aurora, Missouri.

A celebration of life was held on Monday, November 10th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the PittNaz Church (816 E Quincy St, Pittsburg, KS 66762).

The family suggests memorial donations be made to the PHS Music Department and/or the Scholarship for Engineering (Hix Corporation).
