He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Nichols and Avis Nichols; his brothers, Eddie, Jack and Richard Nichols; and his nephews, Gary and Mark Nichols.

He is survived by: his sons, Stryker Nichols (Ashley) of Ector and Chris Nichols; his brothers, Chester (Joyce), Joe (Dolly) and Bill; his grandchildren, Brailee Nichols, Charlee Nichols, Zach Nichols and Mason Nichols; and his nephew Kaden Ashcraft. He is also survived by many great grandchildren.
