The memory of Cleta Mae Pybas Cheatwood of Lawton, Oklahoma, who passed away on October 2, 2025 at the age of 91, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse Cardwell Pybas and Iva Monkres Pybas; her husband Ralph Cheatwood; and her son-in-law Mark Daves. She is survived by: her daughters, Nancy Cheatwood Ellis, Vicki Cheatwood and Sharon Cheatwood (Lawton); her grandchildren, Austin Ellis, Jacey Ellis Davidson (Cooper), Caleb Daves and Ethan Daves; her siblings-in-law, Floyd Cheatwood and Betty Sue Pybas; her roadtrip buddy Sheila Moe Anderson; and her caregivers, Presley, Cameron, Logan, Ursula, Joe, April, Eva, Holly, Laura, Wyn and Margaret. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home (632 SW C Ave, Lawton, OK 73501).
Donations in Mrs. Cheatwood's honor may be made to the Lawton Food Bank. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations of flowers and plants be made to hospitals and care centers, especially those that serve veterans, soldiers, and their families.
