He was predeceased by: his parents, Dee Dirl Burruss and Sarah Hazel Stewart; his grandparents, John Franklin Phipps and Mary Magdeline Glass-Phipps; his brother Donald Burruss; and his children, Damon Wayne Burruss and Tammie Chestnut.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Burruss; his siblings, Martha Suggs of Elgin and Roger Burruss of Lawton; his children, Dana Reno of Lawton, Brenda Burruss of Edmond, Darrell Burruss of Duncan, Lisa Dawsey of Lawton and Chrisee Fletcher Amarillo of Texas; his grandchildren, Anthony Beasley, Jessica Claycraft, Philip Shenker, Shane Ketner, Chuck Ketner, Amber Wyatt, Nicholas Pardon, Bridgett Deitchler, Sheryl Wingfield, Melissa Burruss, Craig Foster, Tevin Foster, Danquez Dawsey, Raelynn Fletcher, Jade Fletcher, Faith Fletcher and Blakely Fletcher; his uncle Frankie Phipps of Lawton; and his aunts, Francis Ketner of Central Oklahoma and Lorene Conley of Sherman Texas. He is also survived by children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended relatives, and countless friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Arena Cowboy Church (7323 NW Wolf Rd, Lawton, OK 73507).
