He was predeceased by: his parents, Loyed Nickell and Peggy Nickell (Tongkeamha); and his brothers, Terrell Gene Nickell, Mickey Lynn Nickell, Boyd Neal Nickell, Roy Jim Nickell and Frank Tongkeamha.

He is survived by: his daughters, Crysti Brierton (Keith Bridges) and Penny Lee (Joe); his grandchildren, Austin Brierton (Kayla), Collin Brierton, Ashtyn and Joe Bob Lee (Sidney); his great grandchildren, Hallie, Kopelan, Kolson Brierton and Emma Lee; his siblings, Lloyd Dean Nickell, Shirley Jean Gavinski, Rosa Lee Wooten, Teresa Martinez, Sharon Kay Marcotte, Eddie Heminokeky (Laura) and Harold Johnson (Irene); and his friend Pat Layton. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
