He was predeceased by: his parents, Franklin L. Johnston and Jewel A. E. Alexander; his former wife Ellen M. Johnston; and his sons, Franklin L. "Skip" Johnston, Robin Johnston (Nancy) and Christopher Slaughter.
He is survived by: his wife Donna Christine Johnston; his children, Kathleen Swan, Shannon Wallace, Dina Slaughter and Jeffrey Slaughter; his grandchildren, Aubrey Cates, Shawna Shircliff, Taylor Powell Keating, Zane Johnston and JD Swan; and his great grandchildren, Connor Powell, Preston Powell, Olivia Johnston and Hazel Johnston. He is also survived by family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 8th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home (1502 NW Fort Sill Blvd, Lawton, OK 73507). A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 9th 2026 at the Sullivan Village Church of Christ (531 SE 45th St, Lawton, OK 73501).
