He was predeceased by: his parents, Jeff and Jim (Tompkins); his sister Ladonna McCarty; and his brothers-in-law, Jack Smith, Jack Hastings and Ed Maker.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Datin; his children, Jeffry Michael, Laci Tompkins, Christina Maree, Chad Funkhouser, Jason Mark and Courtney Tompkins; his grandchildren, Carson Funkhouser, Lexi Maynard (JT Maynard), Cameron Funkhouser, Tiger Tompkins and Rigby Tompkins; and his siblings, Roberta Smith, Fran Hastings, Lawana Maker and Rick Tompkins (Mary Lou). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
