It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Celo Jackson Harrel of Leedey, Oklahoma, who passed away on August 30, 2025, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Darla Jo Harrel; his parents, Lance Elvan and Clara Lillian; and his siblings, Myrtle Paulene, Elvin Lawrence, Lance Orville, Donald Roy and Clara Oleta.

He is survived by: his children, Rona (Dan), Russ (Suzi) and Monte (Brooke); and his grandchildren, Reece, Cal, Tess, Raegan, Rio, Willa and Celo.

In honor of Jack's lifelong commitment to education and leadership, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the newly established Jack Harrel Leadership Scholarship Endowment at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, ensuring his passion for guiding and inspiring future leaders lives on. “I met Jack back when I worked at Newcastle Schools and joined OASBO. That was in the 1980's era. I have many fond memories of Jack from being a committee leader to going to International ASBO. I even ran into him a few times at Boone Pickens Stadium. My heart goes out to his family. He will be missed. Kay Medcalf”
