She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Whitfield and Lena Jane Whitfield (Jackson); her husband Bobby Ray Cartwright; and her son Ron Neal. She is survived by: her daughter Brenda Hoff; and her grandchildren, Brendan Neal, Lauren Neal, Jessica Cross and Ryan Hoff. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren, and countless other close family members.
