It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Jane Shanks of Leonard, Oklahoma, who passed away on April 9, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Roe Wilson and Crete Wilson; and her siblings, Joe, Erbie Wilson, Neva Willis, Sybil Long, Nora Dickie, Maxine Willis and Lucy Mae Earp.
She is survived by: her husband Everett "Rusty" Shanks; her great grandchildren, Alice Ruth Cagle and Lily Ellen Cagle; her children, Everett Shanks, Jr. (Myra) of Stone Bluff, David Lee Shanks of Leonard and Judy Ann Wales of Broken Arrow; her grandchildren, Nicole Shanks-Cagle of Haskell, Josey Wales, Roy "Rocket" Wales of Broken Arrow and David Shanks, Jr. of Tulsa; and her great grandchild Lily Cagle of Haskell. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
