He was predeceased by : his parents, Billy Lee and Katherine Holman (Conrad); and also Cotton Holman. He is survived by : his wife Carol; his sons, John Eric Holman of Locust Grove, Brannon Holman (Tanya) of Locust Grove and Derrick Holman (Stephanie) of Irvine, California; his grandchildren, Bailey Halpain (Taylor), Austin Holman (Dusti), Cole Holman (Ashlynn) and Trenton Holman; his great grandchildren, Everly Grace Halpain, Fisher Dane Halpain, Seth Bodie Holman, Caroline Eliza Halpain and Willow Mae Holman; and his brothers, Jimmy Holman and Sid Holman. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.

He helped to engineer and donated toward the building of the first track around the football field.
