He is survived by: his children, Jimmy Michael Tate (Vicki) and Kimberly Sue Henley (Chris); his grandchildren, Krista Tate, Lacey Worley (Tate) and Michael Tate; his children, Jonathan Henley, Parker Henley, Preston Henley and River Tate; his close friends, Debra Kent and David Minyard; and his sisters, Carolyn Sue Jackson (Tate) and Ramona Faye Mayfield (Tate).
