We announce the death of Tammy Avery of Madill, Oklahoma, who passed away on September 27, 2026, at the age of 63. She was predeceased by: her father Charles Leroy Wombold; her husband Melvin "Keith" Avery; her mother Sharon Wombold (Novy); her brother Mike Wombold; and her grandparents, Mary, Chris Wombold, Maggy and George Novy.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Avery of Madill, Channing Avery of Caddo, Justin Avery of McAlester, Oklahoma and Kristina Harner of Wapanucka, Oklahoma; her grandchildren, Jalyne Posey of Wapanucka and Rylan Avery of McAlester, Oklahoma; her great grandchild Dixon Posey of Wapanucka, Oklahoma; her siblings, Jamie Wombold (Virginia) of Hampton, Randy Wombold of Great Falls, John Wombold of Great Falls, David Wombold of Hampton, Virginia, Mary Henry of Great Falls and Cherly Monfette of Florida; her aunt Sue Bomer (Christy Wombold) of McAlester, Oklahoma; and her uncle Lauren Wombold of Havre, Montana. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, as well as other extended family.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Gordon Center (305 N 2nd Ave, Durant, OK 74701). A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Gethsemane Cemetery.
