It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James Henry Caton of Mangum, Oklahoma, born in Detroit, Texas, who passed away on April 5, 2024, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, James Canton Senior and James Henry Canton Junior; and his son Milton Caton. He is survived by : his children, James Caton, III, Thelma Thompson, Yuller Walker, Angela Richardson, Cynthia Caton, Wilton Caton and Michael McDougle. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Viewing was held on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 from 5:00 AM to 7:00 PM and at 7:00 PM at the Lowell-Tims Chapel (1100 E Tamarack Rd, Altus, OK 73521). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 at the Riverside Cemetery (115 S Pennsylvania Ave, Mangum, OK 73554).
