She was predeceased by : her parents, Anna Mae Maples (Younger) and Claude Maples; her husband Rance William Ellis; and her son William Rance Ellis. She is survived by : her children, Lynn Ellis of Mangum, Marcheta Pence (Greg), Rhonda Kesterson (David) of Port Hueneme and John Ellis (Angie) of Chattanooga, Oklahoma; her siblings, Jack Bivens (Jean) of McQueeney, Texas, Gayle Pannell (Jeff) of Levelland and Sandy Campbell (Russell) of Amarillo, Texas; her grandchildren, Brooke Kirby (Jeremy), Katie Thornton (Taylor), Makenna Kesterson, Will Ellis, Cade Kesterson, Dustie Pence, Ethan Ellis, John Kesterson and Ben Ellis; and her great grandchildren, Jackson Kirby, Charlee Kirby, Talula Kirby, Rance Thornton and Ellis Thornton. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Red River Cowboy Church in Mangum, in memory of Phyllis Jean Ellis.
