He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Paul Bates, Robert Hunt, Darlene Ullrich and Joyce Hunt; his aunts and uncles, Elizabeth McGahey, Carol Studeman, Reba Rueda, Raymond Brewer, Freddy Bearden and Delbert Bates; and his cousins, Tony Hunt, Lyn Bates, William Studeman, Joyce Coleman, Kathy Howard and Susan Michelle.
He is survived by: his parents, Richard Bates and Sharon Bates (Hunt) of Madill; his significant other Carla Pitchford of Red Oak, OK; his brothers, Paul Bates (Jeanie) of Madill, Brandon Bates (Melissa) of Duncan, OK and Derek Bates of Madill; his aunts, Mahota Martin, Sue Bates and Gayla Loyd; his uncle Gary Bates; and his siblings' children, Kayla Armitage (Matthew), Robert Bates (Alyssa), J. P. Watson (Carlie), Cheyanne Bates, Brett Bates (Autumn), Bailey Hildebrand, Izaiah Kemp (Angie) and Paige Bates.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home (100 E Main St, Marietta, OK 73448). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at the Lakeview Cemetery (10589 Cemetery Rd, Marietta, OK 73448).
