He was predeceased by: his parents, Barton Winford Baker and Wanda Evans Baker; and his siblings, Barton Wayne Baker, Elizabeth Johns and Cynthia Beadles.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Melton-Baker; and his children, John Baker (Amanda), Steve Baker, Darrell Stachmus (Holly), Andi Stachmus Stewart (T.) and Kristin Baker. He is also survived by nine loving grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a niece, five nephews and extended family.
