He was predeceased by: his parents, Joel David Mitchell and Oleta Mitchell (Barnett); and his nephew Joe Dyer Mitchell. He is survived by: his daughter Kris Mitchell; his granddaughter Rhyan Johnston; his brother Joe Wayne; his sister-in-law Niva Mitchell; his niece Jamie Mitchell; his great-niece Brooklyn Mitchell; his cousin Louise Hoffman; Dewayne David (Lisa) and Jerrell (Mandy).
The family asks, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Frink-Chambers School Athletic Fund.
