He was predeceased by: his parents, Mildred Nadine Fields (Spearman) and William Fields; his brother Bill Fields; and his brothers-in-law, Art, Andy and Dan Hammond.

He is survived by: his wife Martha "Marti" Fields; his son Guy Fields (Angie); his grandchildren, Opal and Taylynn; his siblings, Ronald Fields (Phyllis) of Houston, David Fields (Jewell) of High Hill and Carolyn Thrash (Mark) of Owasso; his siblings-in-law, Tom Price (Marcia) of Tulsa and Beth Hammond; his siblings' children, Lindsey Hammond-Brennan (Michael), Glen Fields, David Fields, Shawn Fields (Sue Ann), Tina Stockton (Jack), Becky van der Merwe (Derek), Penni Pace Mix (Kevin), Tim Pace (Kyla), Bryan Fields (Stephanie), Lana Price, Steve Price (Peggy), Michael Hammond, Drew Hammond, Jacob Hammond (Samantha), Trey Hammond (Ashley), Cody Hammond (Marie), Tyler Hammond and Emily Wagner (Josh); and his great-nephew Will Milligan. He is also survived by other family members and friends.
