With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Laveta G. Wasson of McAlester, Oklahoma, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 19, 2025 at the age of 88. She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Reed and Iva Reed (Kilburn); her son-in-law Kevin Hadley; and her siblings, Juanita Ramsey, Harold Reed, Hubert Reed and Barbara Nichols.
She is survived by: her daughter Jeannie; her husband Walter Wasson (Satch); her daughters, Regina Hadley (Jeannie) of McAlester and Janice Parrott (Richard Parrott) of Kiowa; her granddaughter Melissa Phillips (Harvey); her daughters, Mandy Irving (Jeff) and Mollie Hey (Spencer); her great grandchildren, Mia Hadley, Rylin Irving and Parker Hey; her great great grandchild Sonny Basil of Florida; and her brothers, Jim Reed of Oregon and Ernie Reed of Oregon. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Bishop Chapel of Memories (110 S 3rd St, McAlester, OK 74501).
