With sadness, we share the passing of Lou Nell Walcie Emery of McAlester, Oklahoma. Lou, born on March 15, 1934, passed away on September 24, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jacob C. Smart and Florence Edna Smart (Feree); her husband J. D. Emery; her sons, Gary Emery and Jim Emery; her grandson Robert D. Emery; her daughter Alfreda Sebree; her siblings, Cleta Faye Fairless, Florene Scott, Eleanor Cox, True Smart, Ellis Smart and Elvin Smart; her granddaughter Juanita Kristine Strode; and her great grandchild Brittany Strode.
She is survived by: her son Earl Emery (Debra) of McAlester; her daughters-in-law, Vicki Emery of McAlester and Brenda Emery of Whitesboro, Oklahoma; her grandchildren, Ami Patterson (Matthew) of Stuart, Jakeb Emery (Faith) of McAlester, Harrison Emery (Kristi Patton) of McAlester, Shayna Pulchny (Bryan) of Crowder, Lisa Kirk (Mike) of McAlester and Joe Kilburn of McAlester; and her great grandchildren, Bartlett Patterson, Scout Patterson, Arie Emery, Quinn Emery, Ledgyn Emery, Lennon Emery, Lux Emery, Elijah Pulchny, Ella Pulchny, Estella Kirk, Joseph Kilburn, River Alexander, Sam Strode and Tabitha Strode. She is also survived by numerous other great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory (110 S 3rd St, McAlester, OK 74501). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Bishop Chapel of Memories (110 S 3rd St, McAlester, OK 74501).
