He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Short and Carole Nadine Short (Chambers); his siblings, Jeanie Garvey and Rusty Short; his grandparents, Victoria, William Chambers, David and Ollie Short; his cousin James Lee Short; his aunt Audrey Wolfe; his nephew Jimmy Ray Dickey; his great-niece Jacklynn Short; and his friends, Carl Tedrick, Mark Ligon, Terry Barker, Roy Roberts, Sr. and Nicky.
He is survived by: his children, Nicky Lee Short and Amanda Short; his grandchildren, Jase, Kadence, Jimmyjack and Jamesson; his siblings, Frankie Short, Carol Sue Scroggins (Michael), Kimberly Mae Wilson, Becky Louise Hackler and Jackie Short; and his aunt Barbara Dawson. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Chaney Harkins Funeral Home Chapel (528 S 3rd St, McAlester, OK 74501). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
