He was predeceased by: his parents, Jefferson Lee Hancock and Angeline Moore; his wife Sarah Welsh; his son David Amos; his sister Betty Karr; and his half-siblings, Lucille Jameson, Virginia Sam, Evelyn Hancock, Soloman and Doyle Hancock.
He is survived by: his friends, Gene Arpelar, Don Rogers, J. A. Darden and Tex Cope; his children, Kathy Mowery, Paul Amos, Larry Amos, Becky Hallford, Tim Amos, Mark Amos (Donna) and Leann Amos; his grandchildren, Rachel Harrison, Jennifer Watkins, Jason Amos, Kyle Clark, Bryan Clark, Aaron Amos, Jerran Amos, Daurah Amos, Logan Amos, Noah Amos and Alicia Bell; and his half-sisters, Jean Cameron and Jurline Santine. He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren.
