It is with sadness that the passing of Whitney Lee Joplin of McAlester, Oklahoma is shared. Whitney, born on September 20, 1988, passed away on September 9, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her father Robert "Bobby" W. Joplin; her brother Brad Haynie; and her grandmothers, Martha Kelley and Mary Lou Joplin. She is survived by: her mother Brenda A. Kelley-Joplin of McAlester; her son Bladen Murdaugh of McAlester; the father of her child Rocky Murdaugh, Jr. of McAlester; her grandfather Junior Kelley of McAlester; her brothers, Brian Haynie (Tami) of McAlester and Jason Joplin of Highland Village, Texas; her aunts and uncles, Rick Kelley of McAlester, Sonny Kelley (Alice) of McAlester, Ted Joplin of Lewisville Texas, Jimmy Joplin of Lewisville, Tommy Joplin (Ronette) of Coppell, Texas, Kathy Bounds (Kirk) of Carlton and Marilyn Whitaker of Rhome, Texas; her close friends, Michael Brown and Celia Brown; Rocky Murdaugh, Sr. (Terri) of Indianola and Christy Murdaugh of McAlester. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
A celebration of life was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Fellowship Free Will Baptist (332 W Carl Albert Pkwy, McAlester, OK 74501).
