We announce the death of Charles Eugene Gallaway of Meeker, Oklahoma, who passed away on September 30, 2026, at the age of 101. Charles will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Joseph "A. J." and Ada Maude Gallaway (Boland); his former wife Eva Paralee Kirchmeier; his son Max Gallaway; his granddaughter Rachel Gallaway; and his siblings, Houston Gallaway and Tressie Brown.
He is survived by: his wife Janice Kirchmeier; his sons, Ronnie Gallaway of Nowata and David Gallaway (Janie) of Davis; his daughter-in-law Lisa Gallaway of Oklahoma City; his grandchildren, Amanda Henley (Lee), Laura Goodin (Phil), Cole Gallaway (Caroline) and Randis Butts (Zack); his great grandchildren, Jesse, Emerson Henley, Isabella, Sawyer Goodin, Max, Gabe Gallaway, Bodie and Quinn Butts; and his stepsons, Steve Kirchmeier (Cinta) and Randy Kirchmeier (Shawnda).
Viewing will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the Hale's Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the New Hope Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Mammoth Baptist Church in Meeker in memory of Charles.
