We announce the death of Vernadine Wages of Meeker, Oklahoma, who passed away on September 6, 2026, at the age of 83. Vernadine will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her husband John Edward Wages; her parents, Vernon G. Statton and Betty L. Statton; and her siblings, David Statton and Clara Kersey.
She is survived by: her siblings, Fred Statton, Veta Statton and Norma Henson; and her stepchildren, John Wages, Mike Wages and Shelia Roque. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the Parks Brothers Funeral Service - Prague (1405 W Main St, Prague, OK 74864). Viewing was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Mammoth Baptist Church (339943 US-62, Meeker, OK 74855). A burial was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at the Rossville Cemetery.
