With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Billie Barnette (Midwest City, Oklahoma), born in Arcadia, Louisiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 12, 2025 at the age of 102. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie C. Burgess and Lillie Belle Collins Burgess; her husband Frank C. Barnette of Midwest City; her daughter Linda Sue Barnette Cowart of Spicewood; and her brothers, Roy V. Burgess of Pineville and Buford L. Burgess of Freeport, Texas..
She is survived by: her son Ronald Dale Barnette of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; her granddaughters, Chandra Michell Cowart Tucker (John Tucker) of New Braunfels, Christi Elizabeth Cowart Torres (Jason Torres) of Canyon Lake and Melinda Page Cowart Rodriguez of San Antonio, Texas; her great grandchildren, Zachary Orion Tucker, Kylie Sue Tucker, J. J. Torres, Bobby Torres and Erianna Rodriguez; and her sister Barbara Burgess Thomas of Lufkin, Texas. She is also survived by many relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Barnes-Friederich & Pope Funeral Home (305 S Sooner Rd, Oklahoma City, OK 73110). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Ford Chapel at Barnes-Friederich & Pope Funeral Home (315 S Sooner Rd, Oklahoma City, OK 73110).
