He is survived by: his wife Lois Elkins; his son David Elkins (Barbara); his grandchildren, Herb, Tim Graessle, David Elkins, Jeremy, Justin and Lacy Elkins; and his sister Faye Kennedy (Mark). He is also survived by great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
