He was predeceased by: his wife Willie. He is survived by: his uncle Johnny; his sister Maddie Sue DeCaro; his children, Dr. Johnny G. Roby Jr. (Tonya), Reverend Joe F. Roby, Davis Boyd Roby (Jami) and Joni Geary (Keith); and his grandchildren, Jeff Roby (Ashley), John Roby (Katie), Josh Roby (Jenny), Jenny Roby, Jordan Roby, Madelinn Hardy (Brett), Anna Butel (Tyler), Grace Geary, Aaron Geary, Gardner Roby and Fischer Roby. He is also survived by great-grandchildren.
