He was predeceased by : his parents, Orville Poynter and Treva C. Mullins; and his siblings, James M. Poynter, Derell Lee Poynter and Diana Brummitt.
He is survived by : his children, Kevin Poynter and Michele Mower. He is also survived by five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren.
