He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Methvin and Vineta Methvin (Barefield); and his brothers, Johnnie Methvin, David Methvin, Frank Methvin and Max Methvin.

He is survived by: his wife Liz Methvin; his children, Paula Betancourt, Christie Hendricks (Bobby) and Michael Methvin (Jill); his grandchildren, Paola Howard, Alex Betancourt, Austin Creed Hendricks, Hudson Crew Hendricks, Caroline Methvin and Victoria Methvin; his great grandchildren, Truett Howard and Logan Howard; and his brothers, Gene Methvin (Barbara) and Jerl Methvin (Claudia).

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 18th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel (120 S Broadway Ave, Moore, OK 73160). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the First Southern Baptist Church (6400 S Sooner Rd, Oklahoma City, OK 73135).
