With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Richard Joe Johnston (Morris, Oklahoma), born in Hamilton, Ohio, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 10, 2024 at the age of 71. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Joseph Burton Johnston, Jr. and Joyce Violet Johnston Beck (Watts); his sister Donna; his brother-in-law Frank Thomason; and his cousin Stevie Gene.

He is survived by : his wife Cynthia Diane Johnston (Surber); his sons, Joshua (Jennifer Johnston) and Jacob Johnston; his sisters, Diane Storm (Dennis) and Lisa Johnson; and his grandchildren, Erika, Michael, Ryder and Kiera.

Visitation was held on Thursday, May 16th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Ninde Brookside Funeral Home (3841 S Peoria Ave, Tulsa, OK 74105). The lying in state was held on Friday, May 17th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Ninde Brookside Funeral Home and Chapel (3841 S Peoria Ave, Tulsa, OK 74105). A graveside service was held on Friday, May 17th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Morris Cemetery (19510 Ash Rd, Morris, OK 74445).

“I miss you Dad. There has never been a day in my life that you weren't there. It's so hard to picture the coming days without you in them. The last few days have been akin to trying to walk through a blizzard: cold, numb, disorienting, and barren. You have always been my hero, and everything that I wish I could be. Rest In Peace, Dad.
