He was predeceased by: his parents, Curtis and Ruby Brooks, Sr.; and his brothers, Curtis "Beaver" Brooks, Jr., Sammy Brooks and Tommy Brooks.
He is survived by: his children, Nikya Givens, Dathan Brooks, Carnelle Brooks, Aquina Ellis and LaKindra Brooks; his wife Mignon Brooks; his son Derrick Welch; and his siblings, Sandra Terry, Calfiornia, Woodie Brooks, Sr., Ricky Brooks, David Brooks, Don Brooks and Lula McVay. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and a caravan of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
