He was predeceased by: his parents, John Lester Champlin Sr. and Margarite Jane DePerry Champlin; his daughter Jodie Beth Swaringim-Champlin; and his brother Edward Champlin. He is survived by: his sister Cheryl Thies; his wife Sharon Kay Falling; his children, John Lester Champlin III (Leann) of Tombstone, Arizona, James Edward Champlin (Jorge) of Phoenix, Arizona and Jacqueline Champlin-Smith (Logan) of Tulsa, Oklahoma.; his grandchildren, Stephen Champlin (Jessica), David John Champlin (Kate), Grayson Champlin, Caleb Swaringim (Kallie), Brooke James (Brandi), Halle Swaringim-Daniels, Casler Dalati (Jabreel) and Rosemary Champlin; and his siblings, Richard George Champlin of Brisbane, Australia, Cheryl Darlene Theis (Kurt) of Middleton, Massachusetts and Melissa Champlin. He is also survived by great-grandchildren.
