It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joyce Ann (Melton) Mayo of Muskogee, Oklahoma, born in Vinita, Oklahoma, who passed away on September 12, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Clell Melton and Dorothy Dean Melton (Pennell); and her siblings, Terry "Whitey", Carl, Jack, Carrel "Deek", Bill, Keith Melton, Jolene Hicks and Linda Bassett.
She is survived by: her husband Gilbert Mayo; her children, Gilbert "Beau" Mayo (Dawn) of Bealeton and Tamera Jacques (Anthany) of West Jordan, Utah; her grandchildren, Kayla Solibakke (Wesley), William Mayo (Rachel), Edward Mayo (Tessa), Arron Jacques and Hannah Jacques; her great grandchildren, Ivan Solibakke and Atlas Mayo; and her sisters-in-law, Debbie Mayo, Cynthia Todd, Willa and Sue Melton.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Trinity Baptist Church of Vinita (335 N Smith St, Vinita, OK 74301).
